However, chaos erupted at the Karnataka Examination Authority shortly after the announcement of the KCET 2023 results. Students and their parents gathered at the KEA office to express their dissatisfaction as several students were not allotted rankings due to the exclusion of their Class 12 qualifying exam scores in the ranking process. Despite uploading the documents during the application process, the qualifying exam scores were not considered for ranking, according to reports.

Some students mentioned that those who attached their mark sheet as a document rather than manually entering their Qualifying Examination (QE) scores did not receive rankings. An official from KEA stated, “In the case of state board students, the KEA will automatically take the marks from the PU board. In the case of other boards, the students need to manually upload the QE marks. If the candidate has entered the wrong student number and in other cases attached the document, the rankings will not be allotted,” as reported by the Indian Express.

Approximately 2.6 lakh students appeared for the KCET 2023 exam this year, which was conducted on May 20 and May 21.
