The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2023 on June 13. Out of the more than 20 lakh students who appeared for the exams, 11 lakh students have successfully qualified. Notably, 1,074 students who have cleared the medical entrance exam were from Delhi government schools, as shared by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter to congratulate the students of Delhi government schools who have passed the examination. He expressed his amazement by stating, “Wow. More than 1000 students from Delhi govt schools qualify for NEET. This could not even be imagined just a few years back. Congrats to all students, parents, and teachers.”

Along with the tweet, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal shared a picture showcasing the number of students who qualified for the NEET Undergraduate program in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. According to the list, 569 students cleared the examination in 2020, followed by 496 in 2021. The number further increased to 648 in 2022.
One of the standout performers from Delhi NCR in NEET UG 2023 is Harshit Bansal, who secured All India Rank 13. Harshit, a student of Pragati Public School in Dwarka, scored an impressive 715 marks. When asked about his preparation strategy, the 18-year-old mentioned that he used to study for four hours a day. During the month leading up to the examination, he increased his study hours to 8-9 hours per day. Harshit also shared that he preferred studying at night and would occasionally take short outings with his family to relieve stress and boredom.
Arvind Kejriwal has been vocal about the achievements of students from Delhi government schools in national-level examinations like NEET. Last year, while speaking at an event to honor the toppers of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and NEET at Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi, Kejriwal highlighted the success of government schools. He stated, “Earlier, a perception was created that governments cannot run schools and such schools should be handed over to private players or handled through CSR initiatives.”
“These government schools can be improved the way we did it in Delhi. We provided quality education to students, and because of that, 1,141 students from our government schools cleared JEE and NEET exams,” he added.
The NEET UG 2023 results have showcased the remarkable achievements of students across the country, with Delhi government schools producing a significant number of successful candidates. The emphasis on quality education in these schools has undoubtedly played a vital role in shaping the academic success of their students.
